LA Ship Dry Dock and Roadway Construction – Port of Terrebonne
All South is providing Management and Administrative Services for the construction of the LA Ship Dry Dock and Construction of Roadway Improvements at the Port of Terrebonne. Responsibilities include:
- Coordination of activities with the Office of Community Development-Disaster Recovery Unit to ensure compliance throughout the implementation of project
- Financial Management to ensure compliance with CDBG distribution of funds
- Assist project engineers in preparation of bid documents and supervise bid process
- Assist in the preparation of construction contracts
- Monitor construction to ensure CDBG compliance
- Project monitoring and closeout
Des Allemands Bulkhead
Hurricane Katrina severely damaged a bulkhead and its associated levee system in the community of Des Allemands in Lafourche Parish.
This $3.6 million disaster recovery project will demolish the existing wooden bulkhead to accommodate a new tie-back system; install 2,000 feet of steel and vinyl sheet pile walls with a tie-back and dead-man system; backfill all excavations from the dead-man installation and reconstruct West Bayou Drive; excavate the levee supporting the existing bulkhead; and add 650 tons of stone rip-rap to shore up the existing levee system.
